Pourquoi c’est gratuit

Because your server does the work, our running costs do not scale with your traffic. There is no per-event invoice on our side, so there is none on yours.

We believe a tool that respects data ownership has to be cheap enough that no team is ever tempted to give that ownership up in exchange for a tier upgrade.

Comparatif

GA4 has a free tier capped at one million events per month and a paid 360 tier that starts in the six figures. Baidu Tongji and Yandex Metrica are free but you do not own the data. 9ping Analytics is free and you do own the data — because the database file is on your disk.

Questions fréquentes

Will it stay free?
Yes. Because we do not run the servers, we do not have a metered cost to recoup from you.
Is there a hosted option?
Not yet. If we ever offer one it will be an optional paid convenience on top of the same code, never a different product.
What about limits?
There are no soft limits in the software. The only real limit is the size of the server you put it on.
What does it run on?
PHP 8.1+ and SQLite are all you need. It runs on any modest VPS — a 1 vCPU / 1 GB box comfortably handles small-to-medium sites; for million-page-view sites add RAM and SSD.
Are there refunds?
There is nothing to refund — the software is free. If you adopted a self-hosted instance from a third-party provider, refund policy is between you and that provider.
